GYNECOLOGY AND OBSTETRICS SPECIALIST, ANKARA

I graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine. After completing my specialization training in Gynecology and Obstetrics, I worked on my special interest, Minimally Invasive and Robotic Gynecological Surgery, at St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals, Columbia University, New York, in 2013. In 2016, I successfully completed the Minimal Invasive Gynecological (MIG) Surgeon diploma program within the scope of GESEA (Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgical Education and Assessment) in Barcelona.

My special interests include: Advanced Laparoscopic & Hysteroscopic surgeries, pelvic reconstructive surgery, urogynecology, endometriosis, and genital aesthetic surgeries.

I believe that the fundamental building block of a healthy and developed society is healthy women and the healthy, strong-charactered children they raise. In line with this goal, I pursued a specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics, which I love very much and was my first choice. I have always worked hard and continue to do so, guided by science, in pursuit of my ideals and values to always be the best.

Illness is always present, but the key is to find the strength and desire to blossom anew within ourselves despite everything. The most special gift one can give oneself is to appreciate the breath taken and one’s health. With the hope that our paths will cross, and we will be remembered with gratitude years later, in healthy and beautiful days.

Areas of Expertise

Fibroids

Uterine fibroids are common benign muscle tumors in the uterus. They can cause symptoms such as menstrual irregularities, abdominal pain, and a feeling of pressure. Surgical methods like laparoscopy, myomectomy, and medical options are used to treat fibroids. Although fibroids are mostly asymptomatic, they can grow large and put pressure on surrounding tissues.

Urinary Incontinence

Urinary incontinence is the loss of bladder control. Urinary incontinence is a common problem affecting women’s comfort. The rate of urinary incontinence in women is twice as high as in men and is particularly common in middle and older age groups. Pelvic floor exercises, medication, and surgical methods can prevent urinary incontinence.

Tubo-Ovarian Abscess and Pelvic Infections

Tubo-ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs between the ovary and fallopian tubes. They may not cause symptoms but can lead to infertility. Cysts can be removed laparoscopically. On the other hand, tubo-ovarian abscesses can cause serious pelvic infections and may require antibiotic treatment. Early diagnosis and treatment are critical for preserving reproductive health.

Ovarian Cysts

Ovarian cysts and masses are among the most frequently encountered findings in gynecology. Most are benign and disappear spontaneously without being noticed. While some of these cysts only require periodic doctor follow-ups, immediate surgery may be recommended for others.

Uterine Wall Thickening

Uterine wall thickening can cause menstrual irregularities and pelvic pain. Treatment options include medication and surgical methods. This condition, also known as endometrial hyperplasia, can be a precursor to cancer. Regular gynecological check-ups and biopsy are necessary for accurate diagnosis and treatment. Regulating hormonal imbalances is also important.

Endometriosis (Chocolate Cysts)

Endometriosis occurs when uterine tissue grows outside the uterus and can lead to severe pain. It can cause painful menstrual cycles, painful intercourse, and infertility. Also known as chocolate cysts, this condition negatively affects quality of life and may require surgical interventions. Hormonal therapies and lifestyle changes can help control symptoms.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) involves ovarian cysts that affect fertility and lead to hormonal imbalance and menstrual irregularities. It is common in young women and can cause long-term health problems. PCOS can also manifest with symptoms such as insulin resistance, weight gain, and acne. Diet and lifestyle changes are important for managing symptoms.

Uterine Prolapse

Uterine prolapse is the descent of the uterus from its normal position. It can cause urinary incontinence and pain during sexual intercourse. It can be treated with pelvic floor exercises and surgical methods. Uterine prolapse is more common in women who have given birth and can significantly affect quality of life. Early intervention ensures successful treatment outcomes.

Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy

Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, which are closed surgical techniques, shorten hospital stays, reduce pain, and promote faster recovery. Many surgeries performed with open surgery can now be performed laparoscopically. These minimally invasive methods allow patients to quickly return to their daily lives and are effective in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological problems.

Vaginal Aesthetics: Labiaplasty and Vaginoplasty

Vaginal aesthetic procedures are surgical interventions that help women feel better about themselves in many ways. Labiaplasty and vaginoplasty can correct deformities in the genital area. These procedures provide both aesthetic and functional improvement. Deformities after vaginal birth and age-related negative changes can also be corrected with these methods.

Pregnancy and Childbirth

Pregnancy and childbirth are important processes for maternal and infant health. Regular check-ups, healthy eating, and exercise are recommended throughout pregnancy. Delivery methods include natural birth, C-section, and epidural birth. Pregnancy monitoring, birth planning, and postpartum care are important for a healthy pregnancy and birth experience.

Infertility

Infertility is the inability to achieve pregnancy despite unprotected intercourse for at least one year. It can be caused by both female and male factors. Hormone tests, ultrasonography, and semen analysis are used in diagnosis and treatment. Treatment methods include medication, intrauterine insemination (IUI), and in vitro fertilization (IVF). Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment increase the chances of success.
