Dr. Şadıman Kıykaç Altınbaş completed secondary education at Bursa Anatolian High School. She received her medical degree from Ankara University School of Medicine. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at Ankara Etlik Zubeyde Hanim Women’s Health Training and Research Hospital.
After compulsory service, she was entitled “Chief Assistant” at Ankara Etlik Zübeyde Hanım Women’s Health Training and Research Hospital in 2010. Between 2010 and 2016, she worked in the delivery service, high-risk pregnancy, and reproductive endocrinology clinics. Between 2018 and 2020, she worked as a faculty member at the University of Health Sciences. She also pioneered the establishment of the “Chronic Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis Clinic” in 2019 and carried out clinical follow-up and surgical activities.
Dr Altınbaş, interested in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Gynecological Surgery, attended the New York Columbia University St. Luke and Roosevelt Hospitals in 2013. She completed the Certificate of in Vitro Fertilization training in the same year.
In 2016, she successfully completed the Minimal Invasive Gynaecological (MIG) Surgeon Level diploma program within the scope of GESEA (Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgical Education and Assessment) in Barcelona (Advanced Laparoscopy-Hysteroscopy training)
Her areas of interest are gynaecological-urogynaecological and reproductive endoscopic surgical procedures, endometriosis, infertility and chronic pelvic pain. In this context, laparoscopic surgeries (removal of the uterus with laparoscopy, fibroid removal by preserving the uterus, treatment of urinary bladder, uterus and bowel prolapses, removal of ovarian cysts – chocolate cysts, endometriosis, treatment of ovarian and tube abscesses within minimally invasive techniques (tuba ovarian abscess), reopening of blocked or tied tubes, hysteroscopy operations (hysteroscopic removal of intrauterine polyps and fibroids, opening of intrauterine adhesions, isthmocele repair).
Dr Altinbas is an advanced laparoscopic & hysteroscopic surgeon. She took part in organising many meetings and contributed to the training of many obstetricians. She also has a high level of surgical experience in gynaecology – infertility – complicated pregnancy management, and surgery.
She has published over 100 articles, book chapters, and abstracts.
Dr Şadıman Kıykaç Altınbaş is married and has one daughter.
